Re: Whiskey
I only bother with Islays nowadays. But in this weather you can't go wrong with a decent Irish.

Redbreast 12 year old

Irish Whiskey...one of my favourites...if you like dark rum you'll love this but obviously it's very subtle and not sweet like rum.

Re: Whiskey
I'll have to get a bottle of Havana Club 7 as it goes. Fantastic sipping rum.

Re: Whiskey
I went to a club in a cave in Santiago Cuba. Entrance was $10 which I thpught was a bit steep. Once inside you got given a bottle of Havana gold rum. The place was truly rocking.

Re: Whiskey
Not Santiago, Trinidad. Great place

Re: Whiskey
Chill:
whisky = Scottish
With an ‘E’ = Irish.
Learn the rules.

All whiskies are good once you've got a few pegs in you.

I’m relatively new into whisky during lockdown as well, my favourite so far that I have tried is Cardhu Gold Reserve Single Malt.

Before I gave up drinking, under to love a drop of Highland Park single malt

Re: Whiskey
Whiskey = everywhere, the name of the spirit.
Whisky = whiskey only from Scotland

Since the OP didn't specify Scotch, the spelling is correct.

Re: Whiskey
I went through a bottle of Auchentoshan last night. Was most agreeable.

The general BRITISH term is WHISKY.

So fuck off.

Re: Whiskey
You've got all those Japanese ones now, with all their oh so subtle flavours at hundreds of pounds a pop, but can any of them really beat the experience of sitting in your garden all afternoon in the plus 30s with a nice bottle of stag whisky?

Re: Whiskey
I've taken Branded advice and got myself a morrisons/amazon on way with a Laproaig or however you spell it. 16 years old.
Excited.

I picked a few different Japanese ones up when I was over there, they are lovely - but fucking hell are they expensive now

Current favourites are Lagavulin 8 and Loch Lomond Open Special Edition

Laphroaig 16 Year Old Single Malt

Wow that is my favourite BY A MILE. branded you were right. So this is considered wild yes?

By the end of the night I shall be posting bollox. Guaranteed lol

Re: Whiskey
I'd agree with Laphroaig
No need for further discussion.

Hammer and Pickle 9:05 Sun Jun 13
Re: Whiskey
I only have one problem with Laphroaig, which otherwise is something sublime - it just seems to disappear from the bottle of its own accord without so much as a by-your-leave.

Highly IRRESPONSIBLE behaviour.
